Data timeliness, delays, and lag

Very few podcast measures are available on a real-time basis, and most of Bumper's data sources have a built-in reporting delay or lag. Notably:

Apple Podcasts

Apple Podcasts Connect uses UTC time, and notes that data may be delayed by up to 72 hours.

YouTube

Bumper uses YouTube's Analytics and Reporting APIs to access data. Data from these APIs are typically available with a 24-72 hour delay. This is a limitation imposed by YouTube's system.

Incomplete days, weeks, months

In the Bumper Dashboard, calendar weeks begin on Monday, and calendar months begin on the first of the month.

By design, the Bumper Dashboard does not display data for incomplete time units. For example:

  • Daily resolution data for Monday becomes available on Tuesday (at the earliest)
  • Weekly resolution data for the previous week becomes available on the following Monday (at the earliest)
  • Monthly resolution data for January becomes available in February (at the earliest)
